Living, working and studying in a foreign country

Internship abroad sounds like a dream, but it can become a real nightmare if you are not ready to jump out of your home country habits and environment. I have heard a lot that Italian style of life and work can be significantly different from what we used to in Finland. For example, a normal Italian morning starts at around 9 o'clock with a cup of coffee, local pastry and fresh newspaper. When I am running to work I can see almost all cafes full of people, no rush, just enjoy.

After coffee you are ready to work... for two or three hours, then you go for two or three hours lunch !!! (that was a real shock to me) and if you are not hungry by Italian lunch time, well... you will have to wait until late evening, because all restaraunts are closed from 14.30 until 19.00!

But real life starts exactly after 19.00. Yes, this is usually the time I am getting ready to rest at home and go to sleep. But not here! Italians are going for their evening Aperitivo, it's always big companies, music, Lough and lively talks, you can't stay away, you're also going out for this celebration of another wonderful day!
